Elephant Ears Black Magic are beloved, easy to grow tubers. They produce the most exotic black, dark green foliage summer to fall. There are two main types of Elephant Ears. Alocasia has upward pointing, glossy leaves. Colocasia has glossy leaves that hang similar to an elephants' ears, Elephant Ears range in color, height, pattern and texture. Colocasia esculenta is grown in Hawaii for food and is commonly known as taro. They can be grown in full sun, but partial shade is preferred.
